I admire the addition of direct quotes in your post. I think that the quotes made supporting your argument that The Lovely Bones is a realistic book. I also liked when you mentioned how people are so accustomed to remembering big events rather than small things, because it's true. I think that by adding the quote, it made it very convincing that the novel was realistic. Although I did not read the novel, I am aware that the book was written in Susie's point of view as she watches her family react to her death. By what I've read from your post, I believe that Susie is conscientious in making her presence known to her family members. Do you think that this kind of mindset helped make the story more realistic?

The points mentioned in this post are very clear and concise. You mentioned several observations that were similar to books I have read, but I never discerned that those aspects were what made a storyline so gripping. I have read Stephen King novels myself, so I am familiar with his horror aspect and gruesome details, and I think that's it's important that you mentioned that. Also, the shift in the characters' perspectives is common in King's novels, yet I never thought that this is what prevented his novels from being monotonous/boring. I appreciate the summary you included, and I am considering reading The Stand!

Ashley, this entire post was compelling and hilarious. Your honesty is unbelievably entertaining! I think that the children themselves aren't to blame, but rather thecontemporary parents. Many older generations have told me about how strict their parents were with them, and as I observe others around me I notice that parents of today simply tell their children to stop doing something annoying; not only to they not say it sternly, but they also only say it once! So, although I agree with you in how children are taking up a lot of space and are adding trouble and burdens to adults, I think the main problem is the disciplinary tactics of their parents.

Sydney, this post is the post of all posts. I agree with everything that you mentioned, especially the remark about smart phones. At this point, I think we have completely secluded ourselves from interacting with friends, and just turned to looking at what they do. My friends have looked through their Twitter timeline, their Instagram posts, and their Tumblr dashboards. I think that socializing is formative and will constantly change and develop, whether it's for the good or bad.

Stas, I completely agree with you. Benedict is a phenomenal actor, especially when it comes to playing arrogant and introverted roles (Sherlock, Turing). In The Imitation Game, he was fantastic in being the complete opposite of cordial. There really isn't any dissension when it comes to determining Cumberbatch as talented and devoted to acting. I would like to see him other movies where his character is little more free. Great response!!!

Laura, this is such an interesting response! I knew that computers were relatively versatile inventions, but I didn't think that they could contribute to someone's health in this way! It's kind of ironic, if you think about it, since people are complaining that we spend too much time on computers and are getting unhealthy from the lack of exercise, yet this article discusses ways a computer could create a healthy lifestyle. This was a great find! Brava, Laura!

Hannah, I agree with a lot of the things you have mentioned here. I do believe that parents can seem annoying, but I also think that it's their job to patronize us. We are still young, and it is their job to lead us in the right direction. As you mentioned, maybe they shouldn't have such a tenacious hold on us, but I believe that there are some things that we don't understand yet, and that's what they are here for. It's hard to believe the saying "they do it because they love you" when they really get on your nerves, but I truly believe this. Of course, sometimes it's not the case. I really think that parents seem annoying at times, but we can't forget the things they have done for us. But like you said, it's different for each person. We are all different, and it's unfair to compare siblings and it's unfair to restrict us from things we want to do. Maybe one day we will look back at the annoying things they have done and realize that it was for the best, or we might look back and think "why did they do that to me? it was pointless and hurtful". I guess only time will tell. I think that it's great that you discussed this topic though, because it's very relatable.

Wow. First of all: preach. Second, Molly, this is an amazing post and I agree with everything you mentioned. I think that as a person who stresses about gym all the time (as you know from art class), the class feels like a malignant weight to carry around. I stress about not being good enough for my gym teacher as well as my other teachers. I think exercise is good for our health, but it's difficult to achieve this kind of goal when none of the activities aren pleasing to us. Having the option to drop the class would be an amazing change, because there are so many classes I would like to take next year, but there aren't any slots left. Once again, I agree with everything you've written.

I love that you discussed the ways the author did things effectively and ineffectively. It really sheds a light on her writing style. Amelie's use of the Again and Agains makes me wonder is she's a novice at writing, since you also mentioned her "sixth grader vocabulary"? Nonetheless, the way you wrote this post makes me surprisingly intrigued to read the book. Good job!

I think that it's important that you mentioned the plot and subversive goals of Gaea in your post. Since you mentioned the use of an Aha Moment, I believe that the inclusion of the plot and characters helps in making readers of your blog feel like they felt the Aha Moment like you did when you were reading this book. Great job!!
